Creatine Phosphate

Creatine Phosphate Energy System

This is an energy system your body will put to use in certain types of training. You start out with Adenosine Tri-phosphate (ATP) and when the energy system is put into action, a chemical reaction occurs where a phosphate (P) splits away and energy is released. You are then left with Adenosine Di-Phosphate (ADP).

The CP system is generally used in short highly explosive training. So essentially it allows you to squeeze out 1 or 2 extra repetitions when training, therefore allowing you to work your body harder than normal and you then reap the benefits of pushing yourself further.

The reason athletes use Creatine Supplements is due to the fact that it increases your body’s store of Creatine, therefore increasing your energy levels from this particular source.

The two main Creatine supplements are Monohydrate and Phosphate. Monohydrate is often recommended due to it being the more effective of the two and less expensive.
